Autumn changes take place with animals, plants, and people too!

Days get colder and clothes get heavier.

Days get shorter and nights get longer.

Leaves change colors.

Autumn looks colorful!

Autumn feels fluffy, bumpy, smooth, crispy, slippery, and sunny warm!

Autumn tastes like apples, pumpkins, pears, plums, and more!

Autumn shapes are round like apples, pumpkins, and balls.  Autumn is triangular like candy corn, corn on the cob, and a slice of apple pie!

Autumn sounds like BOO, Mmmm, crunch crunch,  and gobble gobble!

Sights, smells, tastes and textures of Awesome Autumn!

Celebrating All Saint's Day with Father Edmund

Father Edmund shares a story of Saint Peter.

Saint Peter was named Simon Peter.

He was a fisherman.

He was a friend of Jesus.

Jesus taught him to be a fisher of men.

The children loved being Father Edmund's fish!

After his story Father Edmund provided the children with a snack of Goldfish Crackers and Swedish Fish in keeping with the theme of the story.

The children learned that it is Father Edmund's birthday tomorrow so they let him wear the Birthday Cape as we played The Beatles Birthday Song and danced.  Thank you, Father Edmund, for taking the time to teach us today.

An Alumni Returns

Jim Haklar, an alumni of OLP whose son attends 3rd grade here, came Wednesday to teach students in grades PreK to 2nd about nocturnal animals and spiders.  At the end of his presentation Mr. Haklar showed us his son's pet tarantula.  We enjoyed being creeped out!!
